intec...students know singular with s, plural no s..i am flattered and so dang happy...i even literally jumped and clapped, the moment they could explain the rules...

i am not degrading the students or anything that is equal to that, it's just that they are quite weak in english. i didn't get the chance to teach them previously as they are all final semester students..erm to be precise, graduating students. i would like to stress here that they are no stupid bunch of kids....they are smart students...in their respective fields. they scored well in their last exam, some got cgpa of 3.9, 3.7, 3.5 etc...first class students but when it comes to language (english language, to be exact)..they are hopeless. i could see it in their eyes. they come with hope. hope that they would be able to graduate. they are the first batch of UMK students who will be graduating this September... the first ever!
the reasons they are here for INTEC (intensive english course) is because they didn't manage to score Band 3 for their MUET thus they couldn't graduate. in UMK, in order for the students to graduate, they have to score at least band 3 for their MUET. some have sat for this exam for 4 - times, but remained static. so, the english unit is given this responsibility to organise a special engish casses for them and here we are....INTEC..

now, going back to my students....they are weak, no doubt they are...but they have the willingness to learn and they remian in class despite of hte long hours (8.30 - 4.30pm.....)we lecturers are tired too...i could see some improvement in them. they are willing to work hard, well at least are asked and pushed to work hard..ahaks...
i pity these students....why didn't they have this awareness of trying or wanting to improve thier english langauge poficiency? why must it be like this? well at least, now they realize....better late than never, i guess....

i think i'll be posting quite a lot about these kawaaii students of mine...heheh..
